Free metadata generator and AI prompt generator for stock files
Generator is a free AI metadata generator for microstock contributors. Upload your photos, videos or vector files and it writes a title, a description and a keyword list for each one, ready for Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock and other agencies.
Switch to Prompt mode and the same tool works as a prompt generator for images: it studies a picture and writes a prompt you can reuse in your AI image tool. It is free because it runs on your own AI key from Google AI Studio, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral or OpenAI.
How to generate stock metadata
- Add your AI keyOpen My API keys and paste a key from Google AI Studio, Groq, OpenRouter, Mistral or OpenAI. Some of these providers have a free tier.
- Upload your filesDrop in JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, SVG, EPS, AI or video files. Pictures are resized in your browser before they are sent to the AI model.

- Review and exportEdit anything you like, then download a CSV for Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, iStock, Vecteezy, Pond5, Dreamstime or a general layout.
Questions and answers
Is this metadata generator really free?
Yes. Nextools does not charge for the Generator and there are no credits to buy. You connect your own AI key, so the only limit is the one your AI provider sets. You need a free Nextools account to use it.
Can I use it as an Adobe Stock metadata generator?
Yes. Choose Adobe Stock in the export menu and the CSV contains the file name, title and keywords for each file. Read the keywords once before you upload and keep the most important ones first, as Adobe Stock recommends.
Which file types can I upload?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and TIFF images, SVG, EPS and AI vector files, PDF, and MP4, MOV or WebM video. For an EPS file, add a JPG preview with the same name so the AI can see the artwork.
Can it write an AI prompt from an image?
Yes. In Prompt mode the tool describes the picture as a prompt. You can choose the art style, the prompt length, camera details and an optional negative prompt, then export the prompts as CSV.
Are my files stored on your servers?
No. Your file is passed to the AI provider whose key you selected so it can be analysed, and it is not kept on Nextools servers.
