A window shadow can add a sense of daylight to a mockup without rebuilding the photographed scene. The effect works best when its direction agrees with the existing light.
Generate a believable shape
Use the NexTools Shadow Generator to create a window-light overlay. Try a broad, soft pattern first; very sharp bars imply a strong, nearby window. Adjust its angle to match highlights already visible on the product or wall.
Place the PNG in a composition
Export a transparent PNG and put it above the mockup in your editor. Reduce opacity until the shadow adds depth without concealing labels or product details. If the scene has no direct light, soften the overlay further rather than forcing a dramatic grid into it.
Inspect the result at thumbnail size and full size. Keep the overlay as a separate layer so buyers or teammates can change its position. For a stock asset, confirm that the underlying product, logo and source image are licensed or created by you.
