RubberHose 2
Bendy limbs without the IK headache.
What RubberHose 2 does
RubberHose 2 — effortless bendy-limb rigging
RubberHose 2 from Battle Axe is the go-to tool for building smooth, flexible limbs in After Effects. It brings the timeless "rubber hose" cartoon look to motion graphics without the complexity of a traditional inverse-kinematics rig. Press one button and you have a limb you can pose immediately.
Animate by moving two points
Each hose is controlled by two points — a start and an end. Move them and the limb bends in a clean, natural arc between the two. There are no joints to fight and no expressions to untangle, so you spend your time animating instead of setting up.
Full control over the look
Adjust bend direction, hose width, tapering and squash to match your character's style. Attach hands, feet or props to the controllers to build complete arms and legs, then reuse the setup across shots and characters.
Why motion designers love it
- The quickest path to expressive, flowing limb animation.
- Perfect for character explainers, stickers and stylised motion graphics.
- Lightweight, dependable and endlessly reusable.
