AI illustrations often have crisp silhouettes and broad, flat areas. An aggressive photo-oriented upscale can replace those clean shapes with unwanted texture or wavy outlines.
Pick a suitable mode
Upload a copy to the NexTools Image Upscaler and compare an illustration-friendly or faithful mode with a sharper mode. Inspect straight edges, repeated motifs and color boundaries at 100%. A tiny icon may need simple edges more than extra texture.
Check the entire design
Zoom into corners, hands, text-like details and thin outlines. Watch for stray pixels, altered shapes and color halos. Then view the artwork at its intended placement size. An artifact obvious at 400% might be harmless; a broken outline visible in a thumbnail is not.
If you need truly editable curves, upscaling a raster file will not turn it into a vector drawing. Keep the original prompt or source project where available, and consider recreating critical elements manually before a stock submission.
