Faces and letters are sensitive to different errors. A face may look unnatural when a model invents skin detail; small text becomes unusable if even one character changes.
Test the difficult area
Crop a representative part of your image for comparison, then upscale the full file in the NexTools Image Upscaler. Try a faithful setting for identifiable people and a text-safe setting where lettering matters. Compare the outputs at the same size. Read each word rather than assuming sharper letters are correct.
Decide what to keep
If a poster has a strong portrait and tiny label, one mode may not serve both. Use the cleaner enlargement and reconstruct the label in a design editor if you control the source. Do not present an AI-invented word, logo or facial feature as faithful to the original.
The goal is a useful final image, not maximum apparent sharpness. For important identity details, returning to a higher-quality source is often safer than asking an upscaler to guess.
